When I was reading "My Two Life's" story is remind me my life. I come to America 11 years ago and I have my two kids who speak a perfect English and here I'm still have my strong russian accent. I try to keep my Russian traditions and beliefs.at home I try to speak with my kids in Russian, but as today I can see how little by little they are loosing a russian language, and answering back to me in english when i talk to them. They become more Americans, spacialy the younger one, which is fine to me.
Like many immigrants in this country I felt the same neither Russian nor American and that pressure to have two lives, like the author of rom story says, loyal to the old world and fluent in the new,not easy. I also understood with age that I always will be Russian no matter what, because that's where I come from, but not my kids.
